  • New CARS project proposal from ITR Chandipur has been received.
  • Our paper on PEARL Dataset for Pedestrian Attribute Recognition has been accepted in WACV 2025.
  • Two papers on “Pedestrian Attribute Recognition using Hierarchical Transformers” and “ICU Monitor Image Analysis” have been accepted in ICPR 2024.
  • A paper has been accepted in ICPR workshop IMUE 2024.
  •  A project on “Development of artificial Intelligence-guided predictive model and evaluating its efficacy in comparison to conventional methods to detect ovarian cancer in patients with ovarian mass” in collaboration with AIIMS Bhubaneswar has been approved by ICMR.
  • A project on “Development and characterization of 3D printed patient-specific nano-hydroxyapatite/bioglass/polyamide nanocomposite for bone scaffolds designed by deep learning methods” in collaboration with SMMME has been approved by BARC.

Received Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur (2012),  M.Tech. from IIT Kanpur (2003), and B.Tech. from HIT Haldia (2001) all in Computer Sc. & Engineering.  Worked with Haldia Institute of Technology as a faculty (2003-2006), ETRI, South Korea as a researcher (2006-2007) and research group leader in Samsung Research Institute Noida (2011-2013) before joining IIT Bhubaneswar in 2013.  Published more than 130 research papers in international conferences/journals and patents in areas including applications of AI and ML in visual surveillance, intelligent transportation systems, computer vision, augmented reality, healthcare analysis, multi-media analysis etc. A senior member of IEEE and currently officiating as the Treasurer of IEEE Bhubaneswar Subsection. An editor of SNCS and JMIS journals. An independent director of IIT Bhubaneswar Research and Entrepreneurship Park, a section-8 company of IIT Bhubaneswar.
