Hello World! I, Dr. Joy Chandra Mukherjee, am currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the School of Electrical and Computer Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India since July 2016. My research interests include applying different graph and geometric algorithms, approximation algorithms, distributed algorithms, and optimization techniques to solve problems in various domains such as Smart Grid, Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Software Defined Networks, and Wireless Sensor Networks.

Before joining IIT Bhubaneswar, I was blessed to get in touch with some wonderful persons, Prof. Arobinda Gupta (M.Tech. and Ph.D. Supervisor), Prof. Abhijit Das, Prof. Pallab Dasgupta, Mr. Goutam Biswas, Prof. Partha Pratim Chakraborty, Prof. Niloy Ganguly, Prof. Partha Bhowmick, Prof. Dipankar Sarkar, Prof. Rajib Mall, Prof. Rajeev Kumar, Prof. Debdeep Mukhopadhyay, Prof. Sudeshna Sarkar, Prof. Dipanwita Roychaudhury, Prof. Pabitra Mitra, to name a few, who helped me to grow as a teacher, as a researcher, and as a human being as well.
I completed my secondary (10th class) and higher secondary (12th class) from Ramakrishna Mission, Rahara in 1998 and 2000 respectively. I obtained my B.Tech. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Kalyani in 2004. After that, I worked for three years in Cognizant Technology Solutions and a year in Tata Consultancy Services. I earned my M.Tech. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2011, where I ranked second in the CSE 2009-2011 batch. My GATE AIR was 125 in CSE-2009. I received my Ph.D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2015.
