Dr. Abhinav Arya obtained his M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India, in 2015. During his M.Tech., he conducted research on condition monitoring of aluminium electrolytic capacitors (AECs) for single-phase grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) inverters.
Following his M.Tech., Dr. Arya worked at Mahindra Research Valley, Chennai, India, where he focused on tool development and performance analysis of hybrid electric vehicles.
In 2023, Dr. Arya earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur. His doctoral research concentrated on IGBT reliability and junction temperature estimation in power electronic systems.
After completing his Ph.D., he served as an Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow (IPDF) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay, where he was primarily involved in industrial projects related to the design and development of power converters for electric vehicles.
In 2024, Dr. Abhinav Arya joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at the School of Electrical and Computer Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar, as an Assistant Professor.

- “Non-invasive diagnostics and prognostics of power semiconductor devices for EV 2/3W”, sponsored under MAHA-EV Mission by ANRF, industrial support by Ather Energy Ltd.
- “Wide Bandgap devices based integrated power electronics and condition monitoring in EV 2/3W applications”, a seed grant by IIT Bhubaneswar.
